His ineptitude leads always in danger, but he always comes trouble with their confidence gadgets (especially their springs), interference of the penny, or pure luck. The episode, "M. Trap" is one of the few episodes in which the gadget actually shows a certain capacity. Claw traps him in a steel mill; he uses his flawless gadgets to save the penny and brain. Later in the "moral" muse it was a good thing your gadgets were in top form. Occasionally, he also inadvertently help the penny to settle the case, with his bungling distracting Dr. Claw or installing things for the penny to do its job. The nearest gadget ever get to catch Dr. Claw is on the joker of the opening of each episode in which the gadget handcuffs metal glove trap, just make a bomb explode in his face. However, this is meant to show that always manages to escape the grip of justice and was never seen in any real episode. Their slogan is "Dowsers!".
; Early niece Penny Gadget (expressed first by Cree Summer, then Holly Berger). The inspector gadget is his guard and vigilant, although it often seems suited to be his caretaker because the awkwardness of the gadget. Unknown to the characters that are repeated except any of the brain, she is a master of research and technology that is the one truly responsible for foiling schemes M. The tool to combat major crime Penny is a book of high-tech computer capable of cracking codes, surveying buildings and the elimination of virtually any kind of machine or device. Using the book, the penny can monitor the activities of the gadget and - with the help of the brain - surreptitious help you avoid many potential disasters resulting from his absent-mindedness as they uncover the true nature of the plot of Dr. His name is Sophie in the French, Italian and German.
; Dog brain Penny (voiced by Frank Welker). He assists in keeping the gadget out of danger and solves the crime. He is a master of disguise and dresses up to watch the gadget and attempts to save his life. Although the gadget almost in contact with a brain the whole time while he supposedly is solving a case, the gadget never see through their costumes (and as often as not, the gadget is assumed that the brain is an agent of the morning. While ignoring all true). The collar of the brain is equipped with a retractable video communications system linked to a penny of used computer clock that allows her to relay information about the activity of the gadget, or warn the brain as to the place of M agents. The brain can speak a human language, but in a "rude, dog" voice (with a speech impediment offering constant application "of the letter, r"), similar to Astor the Jet sons or Scooby-Doo. It is sometimes impossible to understand what you are saying the brain. In a pinch, the brain upon to pantomime and physical gestures to communicate effectively. His name is Finite in the French and German. Claw's (voiced by Frank Welker, and in some episodes, Don Franck’s), the main villain in the series and leader of the evil organization known as M. He spoke in a deep, threatening, gravelly voice and never shows your face and most of his body through the series, only his gloved hands and arms are visible. He is usually in a terminal where he oversees its various schemes. Although he is aware of the stupidity of the gadget, he believes to be his nemesis Inspector largest ever made is really quite penny and brain foil their plots in each episode (although he or his agents have captured Penny M. Sometimes the brain and a number of times). Gang in the French version.

The two have a relationship of student / mentor, but the gadget is rarely taught anything or is learning Cape man. (The gadget usually mispronounced his "known, ETS). Cape man becomes obsessed with learning to fly and often mistakenly believes he has acquired miraculous power of flight while in the midst of dire circumstances. In the first season, almost every episode saw the introduction of a super villain who had come to be used by Dr. Claw to commit a crime suited to their special abilities. Typically are arrested at the end of the episode, and do not appear again in the series.

the gadget works as an inspector for the Police Department Metro City. Their missions often lead him to a different exotic scene, usually without giving any explanation as to how a crime on the other side of the land was of any interest to the police of the cities metro.
Although there are rare exceptions, every single episode of the first season follows a standard plot with little variation:
1: Gadget, Penny, and the brain are involved in a typical family activity that is interrupted by the police chief Quemoy-secret invites to your gadget. He then appears in a strange disguise - a barrel of gas, gypsy fortune teller, even a gargoyle in the house of the gadget, but most often, is in a trash can.
2: Quemoy gives Gadget an assignment on a sheet of paper self-destructing. For the gadget read the message, your eyes dart back and forth and the sound of a typewriter or sets the fax machine. The last line always reads the message "This message will self-destruct." Recorded pop parody messages of the mission: impossible. Sometimes say that the message self-destruct in ten seconds (sometimes thirty). The second station was often "Caution: This message will self-destruct" as the final line in the message. The gadget says his slogan is "Do not worry, boss, I'm" always service. Before he shrivels up that paper, and then releases the message behind unintentionally in the head and walk away in ignorance total. When the boss hiding out in a garbage disposal, gadget puts the message in the trash, not knowing that the boss is in there too. The message seconds later explodes in the face of Quemoy. The only episodes without the role of pop are "replacement" of the gadget; (# 23), where the gadget is replaced by a computer, and "Health Spa" (# 6), in which the gadget does not even get a mission. Instead, gadget slams the door in the face of the head shortly after Quemoy says, "At last, an assignment that did not jump on my face. Trap" (# 20), the gadget did not get an allowance Quemoy, but when it appears that Dr. Claw does not intend to rely on any crimes, gadget main Quemoy to paper that reads, "Have you got assignments for me today? This message self-destruct." Quemoy panics at this and drops him before he fed pigeons. While trying to rescue them, message gadget blows in the face of Quemoy. Claw is always somehow visually monitoring the event at your computer desk or car, and presents his scheme and a new employee usually super villain to viewers. The schemes include almost always try to remove the gadget and the theft of valuables.
4: The gadget bumble their mission oblivious to the dangers and the whole situation around him. He frequently makes silly assumptions (such as thinking that the sound of explosions is the thunder). He also almost always mistaken for enemy agents useful allies, and vice versa.
5: The brain is always Penny instructed to follow the gadget to make sure he does not get hurt: "I am worrying brain. You must follow him." The brain would use various costumes (though how he got them is not explained) and often interacts with the gadget, which never recognized. The gadget disguised brain generally considered to be the prime suspect. When the intervention to save the gadget MAD agents, brain often feels good to the victim (along with the agents themselves) instead of the gadget. The gadget itself is rarely any damage, and if he does, is usually self-inflicted. Even when caught in a trap gadget MAD agent, he always escapes using his gadgets.
6: Meanwhile, penny investigating the crimes and is usually the one to solve the case with the help of her computer book. With him, she can remove the controls just about anything electronic. She for MAD agents when she removes the vehicle controls MAD agents and forces leading to crash often. Sometimes, she uses her computer book to remove the controls of a machine evil Dr. Claw's, making overload and explode. On occasion, gadget unintentionally solved the case without being aware of it. The penny can get captured and escape the criminals in their research, when the brain or gadget comes to rescue. Sometimes the penny escapes when agents M. not lock up properly, or is distracted by something. She sometimes used the help of her computer book to escape too.
7: The penny just before solving the case, she called Quemoy principal to the crime scene.
8: The gadget invariably gets credit for solving the mission, with each believing he has actually stopped Principal Dr. Quemoy appears and congratulates him. Nobody ever suspected that it was in fact the penny and brain did all the work. Typically, they appear and the gadget does not even know they got there, but I love to see them. Like many cartoons, the episode usually ends with them all something to laugh.
9: after that, Dr. Claw is in your den or in your MAD mobile escape, which can turn into a jet or submarine advanced, delivering its slogan: "I'll get you next time, Gadget ... NEXT TIME! hiss generally in agreement. This phrase also played towards the end of the end credits of every episode.
10: in common with many children's TV 80's shows, inspector gadget the last scene is a safety tip (known as alarm gadget team) often referring to the episode (s similar alarms Metro Captain Planet a ').
As the show is obviously formulaic (at the time, is often compared with Get Smart, which also stars Don Adams), charming and appealing main locations of the characters, exotic and varied, and strong writing kept the series entertain. In the final episodes of the series, a small argument plays out the participation of members of a retirement home recruiting criminal claw to remove the gadget. While not entirely conclusive (claw never picks as always), the argument was the only arch of various parts of the entire run of the show.

Inspector Gadget's gadgets
The Inspector Gadget's gadgets were the most unusual aspect of the show, and although they are central to his character rarely ever actually do any good when it comes to solving the case. By using his gadgets, he would say "Go-Go-Gadget", and then the name of the gadget to use. However, the gadget that he said would not always be the gadget that appeared.
The inspector has an unlimited supply of gadgets located all over your body. However, there are several that appear regularly.
Most commonly used gadgets

'Bell of gadget: A Hand holding an umbrella coming out of his hat. Can be used as parachutes. Often, he will fall faster when using the "Bell" when turned upside down.
Layer gadget: the trench coat inflates when he pulls one of its buttons and allows you to float - in water or in heaven. Deflation is almost always to be played, making it shoot across the sky while the air is released before falling from a great height. However, in "Winter Olympics" (The pilot episode, season 1), Gadget referred to as "Blimp" gadget;
Helicopter gadget: Plates helicopter propeller coming out of his hat that allows him to fly.
The slaps of the gadget: The handle of an out of his forearm just above his hand.
Hands of the gadget: that several mechanical hands can be popped out of the hat gadget. Gadget legs (springs) as well as being telescopic legs can also extend to the springs, which is useful for jumping and landing.

This is one of the few gadgets that are not activated by voice Instead, the main active Quemoy calling the gadget. (There is also a regular telephone inside Gadget's hat.)
Gadget Skates: The roller skates to leave the bottom of your shoes. He is often clumsy and struggles to maintain his balance on skates. Later in the series, he tries to add their own modifications in the form of rockets that left side. They have even more interference than most of your gadgets for their first points.

Gadgets finger: there are several gadgets inside your fingers, reached by taking the end of your finger to expose the gadget. These include a flashlight, the skeleton key, laser, pen, screwdriver, drill bit, the snow gun, the corkscrew, the water gun, and the whistle.
Operation gadgets
the inspector can activate each of your gadgets calling his name, "Brazos-Go-Go Gadget" (for example), but there are times when gadgets appear to be activated by reflex rather than being called. Quite often, or gadget called work incorrectly, or the wrong will be activated. When this happens, the inspector muse that he desperately needs to get fixed, though he apparently neglected to ever really do so. The gadgets also have a tendency to activate the mass if the inspector falls, sneezing, etc. - this often happens at the end of an episode, accompanied by all the laughter of the characters. The gadgets appear from time to time have a bit of a mind of her own: in episode # 48, makes the udder one hand using a finger pointing to stop severe gadget to buy unhealthy food.
The Gadget mobile
Similar to your body, car gadget, the "Gadget mobile" is also fully loaded with a seemingly limitless arsenal of gadgets. It has all the characteristics of any vehicle clichéd fight crime fiction (such as the Bat mobile or a James Bond car, for example) including a smoke screen, a siren, laughing gas (referred to as "gas" hilarious;), the ability to drop a trail of tacks to blow out the tires of a vehicle pursuit, ejector seat, and a claw on the front (designated gadget claw).
Besides having all the characteristics, also has many specialized, such as the ability to expand its wheels (not unlike the arms and legs of the gadget) to great lengths, and processed into another vehicle as a whole, Gadget van, even while in motion. All the gadgets in the Gadget mobile are activated by voice in the same way that the gadgets in your body are activated, calling his name, "Go-Go-Gadget van" (for example), although the change in the van and the later, he usually moves a lever while saying.
In ruby, gadget convenes Gadget mobile while walking ("Car-Go-Gadget Go!"). The Gadget mobile then arrives on the scene and, responding to the command incorrectly, drive straight past him.
It is also, in general, nigh invulnerable. There are some occasions where he has taken head-on collisions, assaults, or dropped from great heights and remained fully intact. While Gadget mobile had no voice in the series, every movie related, a voice actor off-camera provides one. Their voice actors have been the D. Highly (Inspector Gadget, Inspector Gadget 2), Joelle White (last box of Inspector Gadget) and Mac (the biggest caper ever Bernie Inspector Gadget).
Gadgets and brain penny
just as the inspector, the penny and the brain are some of his own gadgets:
Paper
Computer a Penny's phone book - sized machine similar to a laptop modern-day. Is able to hack into and interfacing with any piece of electronic equipment, and some non-electronic equipment, such as insurance. The "book" apparently has multiple pages, because it shows the exact same control settings as long as the penny in use. Penny usually carries his book of the computer in his backpack (the only see using it when the book should be used soon after).
Clock
Penny's penny clock has five known functions:
It is primarily used to communicate with the brain (in a manner very similar to a modern cellular videophone).
It is used in most of the episodes to come into contact with main Quemoy, although this is clearly an audio-only communication, and probably a way, for a response from the boss never heard.
You can turn on a directional laser beam capable of cutting through a heavy metal door (as seen in quite a few episodes) or simply force it to open.
Have magnetic capabilities, as seen in an episode, while the penny is locked in a prison cell, she uses the clock to bring the keys from a distance to the cell, thus allowing it to be released.
Seems to have a weaker version of the energy of the book (it was once used to cut into a combination lock and to discover the combination).
Necklace
communication of the brain used to communicate with the penny, the communicator of the brain is hidden in your dog's collar. When you receive a call, collar studs spread out around the brain (usually three are shown extending studs but this number varies). Probably, the three studs contain a camera, a speaker and a microphone. It also has a tracking device that can guide the brain into penny (although he uses it only once.)
MAD
MAD is an organization whose main operation is committing the crime that unleashes havoc and is working on the limits of the law. Mysterious Claw, MAD seem to have many agents working for her but in the series only six or seven are in various special occasions and only used the outside world of crime, including the knuckles, presto change-o, and appointed Dr. MAD is obviously a parody on the big evil organization (such as SPECTRUM and KAOS) with grandiose schemes for world conquest. In some merchandise, MAD is shown as an acronym for "Medium" and "Dirty" or "malevolent Destruction Agency." There is no mention of this fact ever in the series, and is not considered canon.
ANGRY corporate identity
for an organization of evil, MAD seems strangely enthusiastic about self-promotion and branding. Everything seems MAD creates customized to incorporate the MAD logo, or Mad-like images (a stylized cat's head with tusks). All agents are given MAD corporate clothing, emblazoned with the logo ANGRY, even down to underwear (as seen in myth made him self and makes the udder). All MAD agents drive around in cars with "MAD" written on the side. The gadget never acknowledges any of the indicia MAD.
Greeting MAD
the MAD agents often show their respect / loyalty by greeting Dr. Claw MAD. This means quickly putting a clenched fist to the side of his head. The greeting is used more in later episodes.
MAD Academy
of MAD is a facility used to train prospective agents beneath a skyscraper in the city's metro (MAD Academy of). Indoctrinate learners in philosophy and MAD tendency toward self-promotion, even as they use and the official MAD. The facility includes a driving course that is left littered with pitfalls. Claw personally instructs students at the school and its official motto is "We hate Gadget."
The MAD mobile
the staff is the vehicle MAD mobile Dr. as the Gadget mobile, has a variety of impediments to the prosecution use against vehicles. You can also transform into a jet and a submarine.
Background information
the show was created by Andrew Heyward, Jean Chaliapin and Bruno Bianchi. The initial idea for the wine Inspector Gadget Heyward, who also wrote the pilot episode, the Olympic Winter Games (syndicated often as episode # 65, Gadget in Winter land) in 1982 with the help of Chaliapin. Chaliapin, who owned at the time the audio-visual study of DIC, he helped develop the format and concept for the rest of the episodes along with Bruno Bianchi, who also designed the main characters end and served as supervising director.
According to the "of the bonus featurette; Dowsers" retrospective featurette with co-Creators Andrew Heyward and MikeMaliani in "given the four-disc DVD, Inspector Gadget: The Series' original, the gadget was through around 350 drafts before reaching its final design. In this featurette, Michael Malian says, was also involved in the initial design work, although his name is never mentioned in the credits of the show.
The Peter Sauder was the head writer during the first season. Two of the season, Eleanor Burien-Mohr, Mike O Mahoney, Glen Egbert and Jack Harahan (former gets an elegant writer, among many other things) took over. (Harahan and Burien-Mohr later would write a Christmas special inspector gadget saves Christmas as well as Gadget Boy series - see also the embodiments of Inspector Gadget spinoff.)
The first ½ sixty-five 22 - minute episodes were written, designed, storyboarding, and voice-recorded in Canada in the animation studio Nirvana, while being directed (distance) by a French director. Most of these episodes were animated in Tokyo, Japan for the film Shish, Tokyo study that inspired most of the Dice cartoons of the 80, while some episodes were animated in Taiwan for the study of Cuckoo's Nest and film productions Wang, before being finished in post production by Nirvana, the same Canadian study did preproduction. Apparently, the show was produced for release in France and the E. Was broadcast in North America in September 1983. A month or so later, the series premiered in France, whose version also featured a theme song with lyrics French and French Inspector Gadget of the title appearing before the episode.
The first season was aired from September to December 1983, comprising sixty-five 22 ½ - minute long episodes. The original pilot episode had a budget slightly higher than the rest of the series, but due to various problems of animation and away from the established formula, the other 64 episodes of season stand out as better. After the first season, the show was a worldwide hit.
The pilot offered slightly different opening and closing credits, too. The opening was almost like the regular opening, unless the gadget has his mustache, and clips Gadget van turning the Gadget mobile, Penny discovers his watch (an altered version of her book to discover your computer) , and the gadget helps the brain through a wire not shown, instead the pilot clips shown during these scenes. Also, after he activated his gadget-Helicopter and do turn away, before cutting to roll back the penny he discovers his book on the computer, gadget landed safely on the road - in front of a car coming MAD ! But fortunately, he used his legs to release the gadget section. The main title of the show was also presented on a green background instead of an orange background. The theme music was exactly the same (only some sound effects on screen differ somewhat), as well as the closing credits, which offered small animations using your gadgets gadget. The final appropriation was observing gadget Dr. Claw of your monitor, saying "I'll get you next time, Gadget ... NEXT TIME!" And makes her angry cat's meow grunt gone. This explains why Dr. Claw's voice is heard during the regular appropriations while Quemoy principal is speaking.
Two pilot versions were produced. One had white gadget inspector expressing Jesse and the other was Gary Owens to express it (the version with Gary Owens can be found on the Australian DVD Inspector Gadget set).
The first episodes were repeated during the season - 1984 season 1985 with 21 new episodes premiering during the second and last season of Inspector Gadget, 1985 September to February 1986 which makes 86 in all. Several significant changes were made to the formula established in the episodes more flights in the second season:
Evil supporters have recurring roles, appearing in as many as three episodes in a row without an arrest. Although this allowed for more continuity, the show lost some of its moral fiber that way, and yet he also became confusing that most of the bandits simply disappeared from the show after its third episode, not in prison (such as "The big Bambini, the Magician" world's largest, and his assistant, "Soon the Bambini").
The crime most often would revolve around just to get rid of the gadget.
The gadget team move to a house filled with many high-tech gadgets, where some of the episodes are actually located - probably another result of lower budgets.
The penny does not get in trouble as often, something that could have made the show less appealing to children, and also weakened both their nature and unpredictability of episodes.
In the fourth episode of the season, the writers introduced a buddy Cape man appointed body, which was (and is) widely unpopular with the fan base the show, and is often seen when the show jumped the shark. He appeared in eight non-consecutive episodes. This continuity was also provided that confused.
The station and the series that ended with a small arc of the story of three portions that revolves around a "home" retreat, for ex-offenders run by the Claw's mentor. Gadget exceeds its usual manner, to all ex-gangsters who try to remove it for a big payoff, and the racket of the retreat house is closed, with the release of the claw. The gadget is finally honored by the city for this argument
although these differences diminish repetition; the popularity of the show sank. The items were allegedly removed all been part of the great success of season one. The whole reason for the cancellation of the show is unknown, although the decline in total quality and low budgets during the second season are the most common theory, as this may have led to lower grades. Another reason may be that the Disney studio bought DEC in 1986, leaving many of their shows to syndicated reruns.
The Don Adams, the voice of Inspector Gadget in the American version of the story, had also played Maxwell Smart, the main character in Get Smart, giving both shows some resemblance to American viewers. When recording is moved to E. for the second season, several of the voices (including Cree Summer, who played the penny) were replaced.
Music
The theme music for the show was composed by Sheik collection and Him Sabin. Both of them composed the background music for this show and many other Dice cartoons of the 80's.
Most of the signs of the background music are some sort of variation of the melody of the gadget. Even at festivals or dances in the story, the theme of the gadget is usually played. From time to time during an episode, for example, release time and traps the ghost of the Inspector Gadget hum or even sing his theme. Sabin’s revenue and also had a range of other musical cues for each character and to the various moods of the scenes. The penny and brain each have several different versions of their respective songs.
Banda sound
A soundtrack LP to accompany the series, named "Inspector Gadget - Banda Original TV Series" was released in France in 1983 by Sabin Records, the company's current production of the collection and Him Sabin Sheik. The LP is extremely rare.
The soundtrack features the following tracks:

With the exception of the first three tracks, all the music on this album is live incidental music from the television series. The album is far from a complete soundtrack, though it was so impossible that there are probably several hours of source music used in the series. Some tracks on the album are more location / episode-specific or special sequences. There were also at least two other records released by Sabin Records (both in French). One of these was the only theme music (with French vocals, both released in 1983 and 1985 with different sleeve covers), and other audio was a story named "Curse of the Touthankamon roe" of La; based on the episode "; Curse of the Pharaohs."
